2014 ~ MAC Judges

Loretta Walker- Ms. Walker currently serves as Vice President External Affairs at AT&T California for local government and community affairs initiatives in 16 counties of the North Bay, East Bay and Central Valley. She is responsible for AT&T public policy and philanthropic initiatives impacting over 7 million in population. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of the Bay Area as the Assistant Secretary and Governance Committee Chair. Among many community awards, Mrs. Walker was named one of the San Francisco Business Times Most Influential Women in Business during the years of 2009 through 2012.

Harbrinder Kang- Mr. Kang serves as Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Cisco Systems and has previously lead the Collaboration Technologies team within Cisco’s Global Events and Collaborative Platforms group which was tasked with driving the vision and strategy for Cisco’s Intranet and the collaboration platform powering the Integrated Workforce Experience (IWE). Harbrinder has been responsible for strategic alliances, investments and acquisitions, routing protocols & switching, and has built and managed several highly effective teams. He holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham, England.

Ann Kovalchick- Prior to her current position as Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer at UC Merced Ms. Kovalchick served as Director at EDUCAUSE Leadership Institute and Board Member at Technology Association of Iowa. She is currently a Board Member at CHECS Advisory Board, Center for Higher Education Chief Information Officer Studies. She holds a Ph. D., Education/Instructional Design from the University of Virginia.

Allison Joe-  Ms. Joe, an American Institute Certified Planner, currently serves as the Deputy Director at California Strategic Growth Council as Senior Planner at the Governor's Office of Planning & Research. She received her MA in Planning from the University of Southern California and a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Claremont McKenna College. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, American Planning Association, and the Urban Land Institute, and is also a Commissioner on the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission.

Romie Basra- Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager, Wells Fargo Global CleanTech Group, Mr. Basra is a senior lender with the Wells Fargo CleanTech Commercial Banking Office in San Francisco.  Romie develops and manages relationships nationally with both early stage and larger publicly traded companies in the Cleantech sector.  Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2013, Romie held senior roles at Bank of America, National Cooperative Bank, and Oracle Corporation. Romie has a BA in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of San Francisco. 

Camille Crittenden- Camille Crittenden directs the CITRIS Data and Democracy Initiative at UC Berkeley. Prior to this appointment, she served as Executive Director of the Human Rights Center at Berkeley Law and helped to develop its program in human rights, technology, and new media. She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University and is the author of Johann Strauss and Vienna: Operetta and the Politics of Popular Culture as well as articles and essays on new media, transitional justice, and political engagement.

Marcelo Kallmann- Mr. Kallmann is founding faculty and associate professor of computer science at the University of California, Merced. Before moving to UC Merced he was research faculty at the computer science department of the University of Southern California (USC) and a scientist at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT). He obtained his PhD in 2001 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). In 2012 he served as the program co-chair for the 5th International Conference on Motion in Games (MIG), and in 2013 he was a guest Co-Editor of the Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds Journal (CAVW). At UC Merced he established and leads the computer graphics research group.
